Before coming to the horoscope, let’s look at Thomas Edison’s childhood. After conducting a failed experiment that caused huge damage at school. Edison was forced to quit at the age of 7 or 8. But he continued doing the experiments in the basement. - Why is he so interested in scientific experiments?

1/ One thing we may all agree on is that the word purpose did not mean much to Edison at that time and to other geniuses in history who “found purpose” early in life. Therefore, what we think/mean while using the word “purpose” is no longer what geniuses did in the past. We want to find out something in us, the same way these people find in themselves. But right here, it’s where we fail. These geniuses were not intentionally looking for it. Their “cup” is empty, that’s why it can be filled.

2/ A famous genius is one in a million. What happens to the rest of us? Astrology might be a useful tool. But I do not put value in a tool, though I use this tool almost every day. The tool can be useful in this way.

I talked to friends. One of them said, If I had told them 10 years earlier, they would have been rich. I replied, “No. Even if you knew this information 10 years ago, you would still not be rich in 2025. Because, imagine, you listened to this piece of information 10 years ago, would you follow it?” - The friend answered, “No. I would not. I would ignore it”.

Did my friend not know his purpose earlier? He actually did, but was not aware of it.

In the same way, we see the blue marks in WhatsApp. That’s for us to know that the message is read by the receiver. Astrology is a tool to confirm; it is a map. We might find another route on the map to reach the destination. The destination itself can’t be changed.

3/ The life purpose in this sense is to reach the destination with as little struggle as possible, the path that's worth going. It’s not the same as the “purpose” of a young boy who played piano at 4. Without the map/astrology, everyone still reaches the destination in the end. That’s for sure. Don’t worry! - The only difference is how we feel when we get there.

If you mean the meaning of life (aka purpose), you will be lost in translation. The word's meaning itself does not mean anything. I looked into the Oxford dictionary.

Meaning = purpose, the sense of signification.

Purpose = the reason for which something is done, the intention to do something.

Intention = a purpose, a design

Welcome to Samsara!

4/ The use of astrology in finding the “purpose” (the route)

The Sun’s placement. Obviously, it’s where the Soul is heading toward. It does not matter if someone knows astrology or not. In the end, they will land here. For example: Sun in Sagittarius, do all of Sagittarius want to be a preacher or a philosopher? Obviously not, 10 million of them were born every year. How can that even be logical?

The Moon’s placement. Having the map. Knowing the destination is not enough. We must know how to read the map. The Mind must be functioning. For example, the destination is Paris. That’s the Sun. I was born on Mars. From Mars to Paris on Earth, how can I get there? Can I take the bus?

The Atmakaraka's placement - The Soul Desire. What do I want to do in Paris? If it’s for shopping purposes, then I would need huge luggage and a lot of Martian dollars. If I want to learn the language, know the culture, then maybe a backpack is enough.

These 3 Idiots (a Bollywood movie’s title), Sun, Moon, and Atmakara, are my go-to when I want to see the “purpose” in a chart.

5/ Timing

Don’t freak out if nothing matches; it does not ring the bell, even if you find out all of the information about these 3 in your chart! Let’s say, if Saturn is the Atmakara, you would not know what to do in Paris before 36, even if you’re there early. Just wait!

If these 3 are afflicted, then there’s resistance or distraction on the go, which causes delay.

We can and should see everything in D60 (Shashtiamsa). One can predict from heaven to earth. It does not matter what’s been found, D1, D9, D10, etc. If D60 disapproves, none of those predictions will come true. This is the final confirmation. D60 is the result. In the classic text, the sages, the wisest one gives D60 the most value.

D60 Chart changes every 2 minutes. Without the correct birth time, we are wasting time looking at the matrix without knowing if the result will come true or not.

The birth chart below belongs to the legendary Bruce Lee, D60. You can easily find his D1 on the internet.

There’s a much cooler way to read D60, which is mentioned in BPHS and is way more complicated. Here we use the easy way to do a quick check:

Saturn 1st Lord in 12th, one lives in a foreign land.

Venus 5th Lord (entertainment) and 10th (public image) in the 2nd, is how he’s known for with Rahu (foreign languages)

The 3rd Lord (competitive, athletic) in the 9th (philosophy) finds that his martial art and fighting style become his philosophy, complemented by the 4th (comfort), which allows him to express himself comfortably through his skill and wisdom.

Ect

You can go back to his D1, D9, D10, and predict 1000 things from there, but if the confirmation from D60 does not show up, that prediction won’t happen.

If a person is meant to be a star, or in the middle class, or in the working class. If one’s meant to have more comfort, or more struggles. All is in D60.

That’s why D60 is so important in Vedic astrology.

Vedic astrology, or Jyotish Shastra, is rooted in the sidereal zodiac and uses specific divisional charts, planetary periods (dashas), and precise house-based interpretations.

The houses and signs are positioned in a counterclockwise direction in the diamond (North Indian) Chart.

For example, in the birth chart D1 (rasi chart), Cancer is the sign of the Ascendant. Cancer is indicated by the number 4 (the 4th Sign of the natural order of the zodiac). The Moon is placed in the 2nd House, in the sign of Leo (5 - the fifth sign). Continuing in a counter-clockwise direction, the Sun and Mercury are conjunct in the 5th house, in Scorpio (the 8th sign), etc.
