The Sun represents the Soul, the life force in astrology. With or without knowledge of astrology, everybody ends up right wherever the Sun is in the horoscope. Because the life force will lead us where we need to be. Using astrology, you are aware of it. That’s the difference.

I do the first one, the Sun in the 1st House, as an example, to show you how to interpret the Sun’s placement in the horoscope and move quickly from the 2nd to the 12th house. You also have the chance to interpret, to practice a bit of astrology using the signification in the image above.

If there’s affliction, the result varies depending on how much the affliction is in the chart. If there’s a beneficial aspect, the good results multifold.

1/ The 1st house (body, appearance, health, fame)

Human

The native is aligned with the soul and aware of his direction in life. He can sense where he should be heading. He won’t be sitting around and asking, “What should I do with my life?”.

The native is physically strong, has good health, and respects his father

The native likes bitter food and thinks positively.

The native carries a lot of responsibility on his shoulders.

Personality

He’s self-reliant, doesn’t like to ask for help, and feels partially bad when somebody offers help. Some ego problem is there.

He’s wandering around, like the Sun going from East to West every day in the sky. He does not like to be still in one place for too long. He’s independent, truthful, and very organized.

Health

He might have a bald head and have a problem related to eyesight and the heart

Non-Human

He prefers a dry climate area, a forest.

Wherever he goes, the Sun in the 1st house never dresses in casual clothes. His appearance is nice, clean, and formal most of the time, even if he goes to the cinema, where there’s no light and nobody looks at him, because everyone is watching the movie.

Ornament

The native does not necessarily wear an ornament in the 21st century. However, other items that are made of gold or copper will be in his house. For example, he might drink water using copper cups. Or his smartphone has a gold-colored case. Or he has a golden tooth.

Color

Orange clothing, smartphones are more often seen, but sometimes Dark Red also.

Profession

If the Sun is placed from 2, 5, 7, or 9th from Saturn, then the chance of the native working directly in politics is high. Most of the time, it’s a politician's chart, if it’s also confirmed in the divisional charts.

Spirituality

If the Sun is in 1, 5, or 9th, without affliction, the native is religious. He worships Shiva/ Jesus/ Buddha… depending on which religion.

2/ The 2nd House

Having a strong family value

Direct speech often causes conflicts

If the Sun is not in its own sign, or exaltation sign, or does not have a benefic aspect, then the Sun in the 2nd house is not good for finance

3/ The 3rd House

Having good strength, reputation, and courage

Being Intelligent, learned, and liked by the opposite sex

Going on pilgrimages

4/ The 4th house

The mother runs the house

Being sociable, soft-hearted, skilled in playing music, and favored by authority

Get suitable support after 32

5/ The 5th house

The native is wise, religious, knowledgeable in scripture, but does not enjoy happiness from children

Interested in astrology and performing arts

May have 2 marriages

6/ The 6th house

The “King-Maker” - the native is very supportive and helpful to others, powerful, and wealthy

Suffering pain in the legs

Gain inheritance from the maternal side

7/ The 7th house

Poor health and finances

Does not get respect from the opposite sex; has a disturbed married life

Having a good connection with government offices and politicians

8/ The 8th house

Constant fear of losing power and downfall

Not steady in career

Good at keeping secrets and doing research

9/ The 9th house

The father runs the house

Long-lived, religious, and enjoy wealth and happiness from children

Good placement for the male’s chart, not for the female’s chart

10/ The 10th house

High Ego, authoritative, good name, and status

Intelligent, learned, interested in music and dance

Separated from his relations

11/ The 11th house

Has a strong physique and is interested in gathering money

Gain through conflicts and government

Has a beautiful wife and a long life; however, the relationship with his children is not smooth.

12/ The 12th house

Gain wealth during the journey; win over enemies

Spending money on unnecessary things

If the sun attains strength in the 12th house, it’s a blessing from God.

Using the characteristics of the Moon in the image above to interpret the significations of the Moon in the 12 Houses in astrology!

Note: If there’s affliction, the result will be reduced. If there’s a beneficial aspect, the result is multifold.

1/ 1st House (the body, health, appearance)

Human: Women play an important role in a person’s life. For example, the native is closer to their mother than to their father. The native is beautiful. One enjoys happiness and care from the mother and from the community (masses). They often become popular in the later part of life, at least in their community.

Personality: The native is sensitive, unstable-minded, and attractive. The level of tolerance, politeness, and introversion depends on the placement of the signs and other influences in the horoscope.

For example, if Gemini is in the first house, the chance that the native is an introvert is very low, because Gemini natives love to communicate. They talk a lot. If they don’t speak, they will die. (I’m kidding. - If they don’t speak, many headphone companies will go bankrupt. ANC is useless. Therefore, Moon Gemini is essential for the sound, music, and entertainment industry.)

Non-human: the native desires to have their own house. In India, many houses have water tanks, and the opposite is true in the West. That can’t be used as a prediction. The native might volunteer to build water-saving sources in other places, such as in Africa, or they might work in this field. The native likes flowers and perfume; Drinking milk or being a vegetarian is not necessarily true, but they provide care and nurture to others.

Health: Usually, having the Moon in the 1st house indicates that the native has good health, unless there’s an affliction.

Profession: This must be considered in relation to other planets. If the Moon is one of the strongest, then the professions in those fields above will show. One thing we can say is that, whatever they do, Moon 1st House, they try to fulfill their responsibility because of their caring nature. If they don’t do the work properly, others have to do their part. That’s what they don’t like to see. In a way, we can say, they are “mothering,” and most mothers on earth don’t want their children to work more than themselves.

Color: the outfit of Moon in the 1st house is mostly bright.

Ornament: Yes. They do wear ornaments.

Cash-flow: The Moon does represent cash flow, which provides the comfort of the materialistic aspect in life. Because it is changing to digital currency. The Moon still indicates the flow of income, but the “cash” part might be shifted to Mercury and Venus in the near future.

The 7th Aspect is the 7th house: the Mind is fixed on nurturing a relationship. When something goes wrong, it’s the partner’s fault, most of the time, because the Mind is looking at the partner. It makes total sense when the Moon represents women, who are always right. It’s the law of nature; there’s nothing that men can do in this case.

Hope you get the idea of combining the significations of the planet with the house. From the 2nd house, we will proceed quickly, and I will list something you might not be aware of if you’re new to astrology. So that you can also practice the rest on your own. That should be fun!

2/ 2nd House (face, family value, speech, money)

Beautiful face, large family, favored by women

The Moon represents emotion. - Soft speech, the native speaks with emotion, touching, and the logic part is sometimes missing. We might ask in our head, "Dude, what are you talking about?"

Well educated. - Full moon: highly educated

Unstable income

3/ 3rd House (communication, short-distance travel, hobby, younger sibling, competitive, hands)

The native has many communication devices (smartphone, smartwatch, tablet)

Get angry easily

Protector of his sibling

Fond of travel and have many hobbies, very skilled in using their hands

4/ 4th house (mother, house, property, comfort, water)

Having a very caring mother, but not much happiness in childhood

Store medicine in the house

Fond of going near a water body

Enjoy good food and many comforts in life

Full Moon: Mother long lived. High position in society. Healthy and Wealthy.

5/ 5th House (intellect, creative, love, romance, children, promotion, vision)

Intelligent, learned, creative, romantic & wealthy

Gain from mother and wife

Have many children (most of the time, only one son)

Interested in astrology

6/ 6th House (daily routine, sickness, fighting enemy/concurrence, debt)

Facing struggles in finance & Health - Full Moon: Good health

Not having a good relationship with one’s mother, especially at a young age

Husband of mother’s sibling (aunt) might pass early

Attracting many enemies

7/ 7th House (marriage, partnership, travel, business)

Get a good partner at 27

Good physique, attractive - Strong Moon: one spouse & wealthy

Weak eyesight

Gain in business in foreign places

8/ 8th House (hidden knowledge, accident, loan, diseases)

Interested in the occult

Mentally disturbed, lack of comfort, and fearful

Facing danger in water bodies

Might suffer from diseases in the reproductive organs

9/ 9th House (Father, Teacher, Guru, Higher Education, Religion, Social Norm, Luck)

Learned and charitable

Having happiness, wealth, and sons

Consult many teachers, astrologers, and gurus

10/ 10th House (public image, responsibility)

A profession often relates to the water business (selling drinks, milk, sea shipping, etc)

Gain through in-laws and not suffer from grief

Not have a good relationship with the first child

Strong Moon: natives get support from all sides

11/ 11th House (fulfillment of desire, social circle, material gain, older sibling)

Very intelligent and sharp, helpful to others

Gain through females

Have many sons, and long-lived

12/ 12th House (spirituality, foreign culture, bedroom, spending)

Having psychic ability and being emotionally connected to spirituality

Spending on spirituality matters

Constantly worried and lonely

Prosperous in the later part of life

If you know more than the basics, then you should always see the Moon in relation to the Sun, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu. One planet, one house does not say much about the person. See the whole horoscope!

This has always been a question for me since school: why can’t all students be good, but some are very good, some are quite good, and some students seem different than others? Some students with low marks suffer a lot from pressure from all sides (teachers, friends, and society), leading to low performance later in life because their self-esteem, self-confidence are heavily damaged. Are they really not intelligent?

If they could not perform well in life, they could not find the right jobs and pay the bills. There’s no other way but to commit a crime to survive. Don’t forget, their self-esteem was damaged before that. Who shall take the responsibility? School, Parents, Friends, or leaving it to Karma?

There’s a story:

At an Ashram, there was a naughty student who kept stealing things from the Ashram and selling them outside. Other students know this, but keep quiet and pray that he might change someday. But after a long period, they see no changes in the naughty student. One day, the other students couldn’t hold it anymore. After lunch, all of them, including the naughty student, go to see the Master. They tell the master what they witnessed and request that the master send this naughty one away from the Ashram.

The Master listens closely and replies: “My dear students, I understand your concern. You’re good students, you know what’s right and wrong. If, because of this fellow, you are unhappy studying here, you can go to another Ashram. I am happy for you all. But look at him, this boy does not know what is right and what is wrong. If I sent him away, then who would teach him?”

This is not something that we see often in what we call “the modern educational environment.” There’s, but not often.

Since a guru like this is not available everywhere in the world, how can we use astrology to help us in the first step, in the beginning, from our family to school, to find out the way to learn better in school? Because this education system will be here for a while, it’s still useful, though it’s not perfect. Somehow, we and our children have to find a way through it, less damage and more knowledge, and as much as possible.

The Moon - The mind and the learning process

Using the most fundamental knowledge in astrology to understand the mind, through which we absorb the information from the outside world. And you also know which way is best for you to learn when you approach something new.

Everybody was born with a different moon’s placement in the horoscope. In this post, we focus on the Moon in different zodiac sign groups and how people perceive information differently. That can partially explain why some excel in math and physics, while others excel in literature and art… at school.

Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)

Fire provides heat and light. With fire lighting up at night, we can see. Having Moon in Fire Signs, students seem to absorb information better when they see things with their own eyes. Imagination is not really their strength.

For example, in literature, there are many stories, such as the Mahabharata, or in the West, Shakespeare’s. It’s usually very boring for students who have the Moon in fire signs, because there are only words. They can’t see Romeo and Juliet with their own eyes, unless somebody acts that out in a play or in a movie. The student first sees the images, and then they absorb and store them as knowledge.

Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)

Down to earth. Having Moon in the earth signs indicates that students have a practical approach to life. They often do well in natural science subjects because they learn through experiments.

Seeing is also a part of the practical approach. Similar to fire signs, the Moon in earth signs, the students not only need to see, but also want to apply that knowledge. If the knowledge is not applicable, they will likely not learn well.

For example, speed = distance/time. It’s nice to have. Is it applicable? Is it true in a real-life situation? Let them try to go from home to school. If that’s true, they absorb that piece of information as knowledge. If you tell them the philosophical stuff, such as Kant, or the Geeta, it’s not very practical at first glance, Earth Moon probably won’t have much interest to learn.

Air Signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)

I would say this group does best in school in the last century, the 20s century. They absorb knowledge in written form (books). In the 21st century, at the beginning, books are still here, but things are changing quite fast. We’ll see. For now, air signs are still on top of the game. Moon in air signs often have very good memories when it comes to remembering formulas and necessary knowledge for the exam, they do very good.

For example, if you talk to an Air Moon, their response are mostly like, “it’s written in that book, this research,…” or they quote somebody else, or from what they read before somewhere.

Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)

The Flow is the most important for Water Moon. They often do well in literature, history, and art. They would often have no idea how to begin if you gave them E=MC2. They need context, where they can see the beginning, the middle part, and the end. The whole flow must be there. They learn through stories, tales. If there is a message that comes with the story, then they can learn.

All signs can be good at school and in any subject.

If you have the Moon in water signs, you can still do good in math. The point is, the way you learn math will be different than an Air Sign. Water Sign still needs meaning after all. What is this formula used for? which purpose? If you don’t know the meaning, you just learn math because you have to pass high school.

For parents

If your kids do not do well at school, first of all, that does not mean they are stupid. Don’t treat them like a failure! Because if their self-esteem is broken, it’s very difficult to mend it later. And second, school teachers just do their job. Within 45 minutes, they have to deliver a lesson to 30-40 Students. They have done their best.

Nobody cares for your children as much as you do. Take the responsibility to educate your children into your own hands! You have to see which way their mind can absorb information best and try to find a way to deliver the same message again, if the first delivery was not successful.

1/ First of all, before going to see how Rahu behaves. We need to clarify what Rahu is on a basic level. Rahu represents desire. Because of our desire, we are born. While we are living now, do we want love, career success, children, happiness? Yes or No? - Rahu represents exactly that.

It’s a mathematical point according to the calculation, but if we go deeper into these points (North and South Node), there’ll be more to be discovered.

If you’re from the Western culture, then focus on the name of it. Why North and South? What is happening over there? - fell madly into the mathematical and physical aspects of them. Hopefully, you will find out the meaning of these points… in 5000 years (oops, I did it again, sarcastic)

Or we can continue using what’s been taught in the Hindu tradition

According to the ancient Hindu scripture mentioned, in the last moment, whatever we think of before we die, we are bound to be reborn to continue fulfilling that thing. That’s our desire.

For example, you work hard for the family, in exchange for the financial stability of the house, you spend more time at work than at home. There are no other options. All of your kids were successful, and you have a happy family until the end. From the outside, everything looks perfect. 60 years later, when you’re at 100. In the last moment, just a spark of thought pops up, “I could have spent more time with the kids when they were little,” or “ I wish to be the King of Bollywood in the next life.”,… depends, but eventually, you will get it.

Rahu represents that same force that takes us out and puts us back in the game in no time. There’s no entity out there that makes us desire anything that we don’t want to. Because we want, we choose, and that’s why Rahu exists. We are the masters of our destiny. That’s what it means.

If you go full power towards Ketu, renounce all pleasures, and become a Monk, then Rahu will try to pull you back into samsara at the beginning. If you can control your desires, over time, Rahu’s energy is still there, but instead of heading towards material pleasures, it goes towards peace of mind.

As long as you are still out there, running around to make a living, to be involved in the material world, you desire something, but at the same time, you want a remedy to block that same desire. THAT MAKES NO SENSE! - It’s like you desire a house, take the loan, but you don’t want to do the work to pay it back. What remedy will help? Pay 2000 $ for a stone? I guess you just added 2000$ more to your debt, still thinking that’s an “investment”. - Just think! If you sit down and think, you might save a lot of money on nonsense remedies.

I meet people with all kinds of necklaces, bracelets, and six rings with stones on both hands, and yet they are still fearful of living. Sometimes I wish these items could really work because I am heavily allergic to BS.

2/ How Rahu behaves in a horoscope, the basic approach

The West calls Rahu the Dragon’s head. Which is funny to me, how can the Dragon link with other planets in the horoscope? Because Venus is also another full-body, complete Dragon. That’s why both of them are friends? It’s a dead-end in the logic. They need to make up more stories for that.

Or you can see what the indians have researched and use it, it’s useful for you.

Back to the Hindu tradition, Rahu is the head part. (There is a whole story about it, which you can Google.) I am not saying it’s “good or bad” but rather

“Well behaved” (desire that brings less suffering to the native) and

“Naughty” (desire that brings more suffering to the native).

Desire always comes with suffering. There’s no other way around it.

The Sun, Moon, and Jupiter represent the sources of knowledge. One needs a head to learn. Rahu (the head) needs a body. If Rahu is placed in the 4th, 5th, or 9th house (which belong to the “head-planets”), it will be “naughty”. 2 heads clash with each other.

Rahu is also naughty in the 1st house, where Sun, Jupiter are most happy to be in.

Ketu (body) rules the 12th house, moksha. If Rahu is in the 12th house, without other affliction, the head meets the body. The native is very helpful to society.

Venus, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn rule the lower parts of the body (from the shoulders to the feet). Rahu is the head, will be “well-behaved” if Rahu is placed in these houses, which are ruled by these planets.

Directional - Ketu is strong in the 10th house. Rahu is strong in the 7th house. Where Venus rules and Saturn is exalted.

Similarly, Rahu is happier when conjunct with “body-planets” than “head-planets”. It can perform better with “body-planets” and give material gains.

Desire is considered “poisonous” according to the Sage’s perspective. It’s not scary or dangerous to the native. That needs to be understood clearly. While being with “head-planets”, Rahu (the poison) is under control. Being conjunct with Jupiter (Shiva), Sun, or Moon (Mohini), Rahu’s aspect will be neutralised. The “poison” can’t affect other houses in the horoscope.

Rahu, with “body planets,” you have material gains. With “head planets”, you know how to overcome suffering. Which one is good or bad for you, you pick!

The 2nd, 5th, 7th, and 9th houses from where Rahu is placed. If you have planets there, that’s the source of your suffering, attachment, where you will make mistakes and experience the consequences. If these houses are empty, then you’re lucky in this incarnation. (Ketu is always in the 7th. Ketu does not count as the 7th aspect of Rahu.)

Before exploring the significations of Mandi in a horoscope, a few things need to be mentioned first:

Mandi and Gulika are secondary. The main focus should be on the 9 other planets in the chart.

They are the worst malefics. Therefore, don’t use them if you don’t know how to read the other 9. Just stay with the basics!

If you consider yourself financially struggling, stuck in debt, or similar, then you can disregard this post. It can’t make your situation better or worse.

Mandi and Gulika are useful when used for studying purposes.

Some considered Mandi and Gulika to be two different names for the same entity.

In the South of India, people tend to use Mandi and Gulika in the prasna chart.

1/ Story:

During the fight between Guru (Jupiter) and Shani (Saturn), Shani got hit and injured. His blood fell on the ground. Gulika arose from the blood.

Gulika has the serpent form, thunderbolt voice, and salutes his father, Shani.

If you know the Venom story, you can also think about Gulika in that way. It attaches to the host (the father) and serves accordingly, for both good and bad.

2/ House Placement

Always see Mandi and Gulika in a relationship with Jupiter and Saturn in the horoscope. That’s a must! Our ancestors have clearly given the instructions on how to read Mandi and Gulika in the birth chart.

If there’s an aspect of a strong benefic, then the bad result will be reduced.

2 – 1. Gulika in the first house indicates that the person is prone to illness, lacks mental clarity, is sinful, lustful, and has a tendency to steal, and is generally unhappy. Mandi is in the ascendant, which indicates that the native is slow-witted and patient.

Did you see how negative it is? - It’s a common placement. Imagine you look into someone’s horoscope or your own horoscope and see this description. How good can it be?

Don’t jump to any conclusion just by simply looking at one planet in one sign/house! The whole horoscope must be seen.

2 – 2. Gulika in the second house indicates that the native is not so good-looking, poor, has bad speech, and is a liar. Mandi in the 2nd house indicates that the person is prone to pleasures, an aimless wanderer. Both indicate defective eyesight, facing obstacles in education

2 - 3. Gulika in the 3rd house indicates that the native is attractive, proud, and honored. Native has no younger siblings. Mandi is in the 3rd house; the native might have a younger sibling, but the relationship between the native and the sibling is not going well. Both indicate that the native is fond of traveling, long life, and happy.

2 - 4. Gulika in the 4th house indicates that the native lacks happiness in the family. poor health. The mother suffers. Mandi in the 4th house indicates that the native is not well educated academically, is homeless, and has a wandering nature.

2 - 5. Gulika in the 5th house indicates that the native has an unsteady mind, is hateful, and faces difficulties regarding children’s matters. Mandi in the 5th house, the native has a sinful mind, and is short-lived.

2 - 6. Gulika in the 6th house indicates that the native has no enemies and good health, and is long-lived. Mandi in the 6th house indicates that the native has enemies but wins over them.

2 - 7. Gulika in the 7th house indicates that the native often has conflicts, misunderstandings with their partner. Mandi in the 7th house indicates that the marriage is delayed, does not go smoothly.

2 - 8. Gulika in the 8th house indicates that the native suffers from different diseases and injuries, is cruel and poor. Mandi in the 8th house indicates that the native suffers from eyesight issues and has a weak body.

2 - 9. Gulika in the 9th house indicates that the native does bad deeds, lacks respect towards elders, and the guru. Mandi in the 9th house indicates that the native has an evil mind. The father faces many struggles in life.

2 - 10. Gulika in the 10th house indicates that the native enjoys happiness from children but is lazy at work. Mandi in the 10th house indicates that the native is stubborn and willing to work long hours. Both give mixed results in the 10th house, depending on Jupiter and Saturn in the chart.

2 - 11. Gulika in the 11th house indicates that the native enjoys a long life, favors from authority, and properties. Mandi in the 11th house indicates that the native is bright, wealthy, but also shows that the elder sibling suffers.

2 - 12. Gulika in the 12th house indicates that the native commits bad deeds, is unfortunate, and spends on temporary pleasures. One suffers a loss of a spouse and wealth. Mandi in the 12th house indicates that the native is low-minded, low-spirited, and is more about the pleasure of oneself than thinking about other people.

3/ Aspect or Conjunction

When Mandi and Gulika are conjunct with other planets, we can see it as Venom picking its host. It can turn the good into bad, or the bad into worse. Only by being aspected by benific can one turn the tables around, not by conjunction.

To see the effect of Rahu in Cancer, I suggest you stay with the Vedic Concept. I acknowledge that the tropical system works like anything. If the chart reader studied the depth of the tropical system, he could predict as good as a Vedic Astrologer can. Two systems work. No further questions needed. But when it comes to the North and South Node, aka Rahu and Ketu, there is not enough information from the tropical system.

Side note: This is a fact, you’re welcome to double-check. There was a conference in Greece. Both scholars sat together and exchanged knowledge between using tropical system and the Vedic system. Both agreed on the total Period is 120 years (total length of the Dasa of 9 planets). When it comes to the calculation in detail, the Indian spots the mistake in the calculation of the colleague. He missed Ketu, though they said 120 years, but their total was only 113 years. It’s difficult to beat an indian in math. The Vedic astrologer peacefully explained, and from that moment, Ketu (the south node) exists in the tropical horoscope. On some websites TODAY, you can check that when you look for the Node, it still shows only the North Node in the chart. Of course, the South Node is exactly opposite. But some “painful experience” in the past just can’t be overcome. They don’t put the south node in the search engine/chart. You can see that it hurts because they still refuse to use the word “Rahu and Ketu”, even though they accepted the mistake in the calculation, but they would rather use the North and South Nodes.

In Indian Literature, there are hundreds of stories related to Rahu and Ketu that the sages told. We use it to understand the significations. With the new words “north and south nodes,” you have to define them from zero, and start to add information to them. If the Ego issue is still there, it’d take them maybe another 5000 years to understand Rahu and Ketu.

Here we are sharing information freely for everyone to know, to learn, and make better predictions! If you think it’s useful, then just use it!

Some general traits of Rahu in Cancer:

Rahu has an airy and foggy nature (the north node can’t do that :p it’s just me being sarcastic), in Cancer (water, emotional). The water makes the fog look beautiful. Have you ever walked along the river/canal in the morning? The fog did not affect the water. Generally, Rahu is uncomfortable in water signs. Whatever Cancer represents, Rahu will shake.

Homelife is disturbed.

Mother is often the one who leads the family, and also often suffers from stress.

One went through depression himself during Rahu Dasa.

The rest you can find in the “tropical explanation”. They really did a good job there. Some have already answered this question before I do. You can go and read! I will continue with the Vedic System.

Water makes Rahu look beautiful. Rahu Dasa usually gives good results to the native. Let’s look at a few good and bad examples:

Example 1, Rahu Moon in Cancer, the native was super successful in Rahu Dasa, but also suffered from depression and recovered from alcohol addiction. Rahu in the 2nd House makes one overindulgent in food and drinks. That can’t be avoided.

Example 2: Rahu Mars in the 9th House. Still successful but less than before. I don’t know if the person has taken any advice from anybody. But in Dasa of Rahu, the person switches career to a place where it’s favorable with Rahu. Family life, completely disturbed. The 9th House represents Father. Rahu Cancer 9th, does not know who the father is. Confirmation must be checked in the divisional charts. It does not matter, still be successful in life.

Example 3: The result is bad.

1/ No rule works for every chart. The whole horoscope must be seen.

2/ It’s not because Rahu is alone. I have other Charts, even when Rahu is alone in Cancer, the result is still good.

If you see, Mars, as the 8th Lord in the 6th house, is it a good yoga? NOOOO! Mars in the lagna lord, 8th lord. When the 8th Lord is placed in the Jeeva (soul) Sign (this concept only exists in Vedic Astrology, I think) + Rahu is in the “heart” of the chart. It’s terrible.

The other 2 example charts are good. The Jeeva Signs are not affected.

In the next Q&A, there’s a question related to Rahu in Cancer. We will look further into the details.

Hope this helps,

Before going to the career part, a sign that you can recognise a “strong Saturn” is that even if there are empty seats in the bus, train, or metro, that person stands. He’s extremely down-to-earth. It’s not that he does not like to sit.

1/ When he sits, he falls asleep. (If you are familiar with the Vedic Concept, you understand why this happens)

2/ He thinks there might be others who enter the bus, the metro, later, who need that seat more than him. He’s young and can stand on his two feet; therefore, he leaves the seats for others.

A strong Saturn in a horoscope means the person is ready to do the work. Even if nobody else wants to do it, they will go the extra mile to do it. To compare with another person who does not like to work but goes around and asks people for help all the time. We all know who is likely to be more successful.

I invite you to look closely at the successful people’s lives, who encourage others to Work Smart, rather than Work Hard. They are successful in working smart because they don’t work less than 10 hours/day. Keep that in mind!

General Effects on Career according to the House Placements of Saturn alone in a house in a Vedic Birth Chart

The Moon should NEVER EVER be on the opposite side, aspecting Saturn, and no other affliction or retrograde.

1/ 1st House

Mostly good and wealthy if the horoscope belongs to Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces Ascendant/Laga

2/ 2nd House

Good for a career, but a difficult life

4/ 4th House

Mental peace is disturbed.

If Saturn happens to be the Lord of the 6th, 8th, and 12th placed in the 4th, the result is very bad.

5/ 5th House

Loss of wealth

Except for Aries, Taurus, or Libra Ascendant/Lagna

6/ 6th House

Generally good

Very Good if Saturn’s the Lord of the 6th, 8th, or 12th

7/ 7th House

Career-wise, it’s good for Aries, Taurus, and Libra Ascendant/Lagna

8/ 8th House

Good if Saturn is the Lord of the 6th or the 12th

9/ 9th House

Good for Taurus, Gemini, Libra, Capricorn, and Aquarius Ascendant

10/ 10th House

Good for Aries, Taurus, Libra, Capricorn, or Aquarius Ascendant

11/ 11th House

Good for Aries, Taurus, Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, or Aquarius Ascendant

12/ 12th House

Very good if Saturn is the Lord of the 6th, 8th, or 12th House

A Strong Saturn indicates a hardworking personality, which does not always mean wealthy materially. Hard work usually pays off in the later part of life.

Here are some general points. The strength of a planet must be seen with other planets in a horoscope.
The whole horoscope must be checked carefully.

The general effects of Mars in the first house/ascendant/lagna in the birth chart, D1, regarding personality and relationships with others, without affliction

1/ General characteristic:

The person has the will to fight for what he believes in (willpower, not always physical)

Transform oneself after losses in matters related to Mar's signification (does anyone know this character in the photo?)

Benefic Mars: one is healthy, active, and has a good physique

Malefic Mars: problems with eyesight, and often has injuries on the body

2/ Mars in different signs

2.1/ In Signs ruled by Mars: Aries and Scorpio

Aries: the person will take the lead (manager of a section, a group, organisation, etc) because they fight for position. A straightforward personality, adventurous. Not very favorable for health if Mars Dasa runs, because Mars also rules the 8th house (accident, sickness)

Scorpio: interested in metaphysical subjects (astrology), clever, diplomatic, overindulgent, fond of high-risk activities (trading), may have a scar on the head, and 2 marriages.

Both often have properties and money

2.2/ In Signs ruled by Venus: Taurus and Libra

Taurus: fond of music, sport, influenced by the opposite sex; harsh speech; jealous; small wealth;

Libra: ambitious, confident, self-made, fond of relationships and businesses. The relationship with the mother might be difficult

Both may have 2 marriages

2.3/ In Signs ruled by Mercury: Gemini and Virgo

Gemini: well educated, intelligent, skilful in art, not very friendly towards others

Virgo: learned, knows scripture, scientific, materialistic, revengeful, faces/fights a lot of enemies

Both seem to have troubles with … people

2.4/ In Sign ruled by the Moon: Cancer - Debilitated,

intelligent, egoistic, rich, fond of properties, lack of physical comfort

Have a good childhood, and the later part of life

One lives in another’s house. For example, one might grow up at a grandparent’s house, because parents have to work elsewhere. When he grows up, he will still live in a similar situation, and he may put the house under his wife’s name, or the house will be given by somebody else.

2.5/ In Sign ruled by the Sun: Leo

Interested in the hidden realm (astronomy, astrology), independent, respects elders, impatient, may be rude towards animals, restless, and less physical comfort.

Wealth grows during Mars Dasa.

2.6/ In Sign ruled by Jupiter: Sagittarius and Pisces

Sagittarius: conservative, favored by authority, quarrelsome, respects the law but has less respect towards elders, harsh speech

Pisces: passionate, restless, miserable, disrespects the Guru/teacher/mentor, may live in a foreign country, troubles in love affairs

2.7/ In Sign ruled by Saturn: Capricorn and Aquarius

Capricorn (exalted): rich, be influential and respected, enjoy pleasure and joy, short-tempered,

Aquarius: difficult speech, jealous, unhappy, and poor

Here are a few general points about Mars in the 1st House. The whole horoscope must be seen carefully to see the connection between Mars and other planets. Do not judge anyone without a proper understanding!

Assuming Rahu is in the 9th House alone, not in conjunction with another planet.

General characteristic:

Having an unusual approach toward religion, questioning religion

Constantly in search of a powerful guru/teacher/coach. Therefore, one is a “Guru-Jumper”

“A shape shifter” in front of the Guru/teacher/coach.

Fond of traveling, may live in a foreign land

Not following the culture/religion where he was born. Have a foreign Guru/Teacher/Coach.

Tendency to have 2 marriages

1/ If Rahu is benefic (best case scenario)

Compassionate, grateful, and helpful

Might get fame and respect

Have followers

Might often get injured, but the healing process is fast

Good for professions in metaphysical, philosophical fields

2/ If Rahu is malefic (worst case scenario)

The result is not just bad, but the worst in comparison with the placement of Rahu in the other 11 houses.

The living signification of Jupiter is gone, such as oneself, father, teacher/guide, and the children suffer

Greedy, anti-religion, miser, and miserable

Doing questionable deeds and not helpful to others

His clothes are not washed regularly

Fear God, fear Enemies

Get injured often, and the wound can't heal properly

Falling into delusional thoughts/wishful thinking

3/ When Rahu is in the 9th, the negative effect might be controlled, if

It’s conjunct with the Moon or Jupiter. Though some minor health issues are unavoidable, it’s still better than being miserable for a whole life.

There’s the aspect of exalted Mars, or the aspect of Jupiter

The Sun is in the 5th House

Mars is in the 3rd or 12th House

Sun and Mercury in the 3rd House

Saturn is in an earlier House

4/ Artificial remedies will not work for malefic Rahu

If one worships because of fear, he's still under the malefic effect of Rahu.

Without the help of a true Guru, there's no way out of misery. However, the first Guru/Coach/Mentor is often the wrong one.
