Before we explore the best house placement, let’s see why the Moon’s condition in the chart matters so much.

1/ The Moon represents the mind. Because the information is processed in the brain, we immediately associate the Moon with the brain. How we perceive the world and how we interact with the environment depend totally on the mind.

  • This must be clear: the mind is not the brain. It’s neither inside the brain nor outside the brain.

For example, a child is not able to concentrate in the classroom. It’s not because he’s weird or incapable of learning. That might be the opposite. Most of the time, you will find his Moon is in a water sign. Water signs absorb information differently from air, earth, or fire signs. When we look at the waves, we see a pattern. Similarly moon in a water sign tends to absorb information that has rhythms, patterns, or melody. There’s none of that in mathematics, and a lot in literature. I am not saying Moon in water signs is not good at math, but if the mind’s in water, the absorption, the process of learning, requires much more time. The child can be a genius. I wondered if Beethoven, Vincent van Gogh were ever good at math? They both have the Moon in Scorpio.

This is to me what astrology is about: studying life in depth.

2/ The Moon in its exalted state.

The good thing about having the Moon well-placed in Taurus is that the person can have their finances and family life secured … later in life.

At the beginning, the mind is on full alert because it’s very active now. The person can be stressed about many things, because he “knows”.

It’s an ideal placement, and still, it’s very good.

3/ The Moon in its debilitated state.

Family and finances are often out of control. The person needs support from others to maintain these aspects of life.

The best thing about this is learning. The moon reflects light from the sun. It’s passive. Similarly, a debilitated Moon is passive; therefore, the person learns very fast, because he “does not know” that’s why he learns.

4/ The Moon in its sign, Cancer.

It depends on which perspective you want to look at it from. The Sun, the Leo, strives for position, while the Moon in Cancer is chill most of the time.

The person will enjoy comfort in life.

5/ The Moon in other signs is critical

The Moon in the 5th or 9th, more than half of his salary is spent on enjoyment. Surely the person is well-educated, intelligent, creative, and so on. He can make a living, but where is the money at the end of the day? Can anyone be successful without it? Let’s hope the spouse can secure this part.

The Moon in the 3rd or 6th signifies that a person is competitive and often gets himself involved in conflict with others in the first half of life. If there's support from other planets, he will eventually learn to control himself.

The Moon in the 8th, or 12th, often finds oneself in a situation where they can't do anything. "Feeling like a victim of a situation", these words might be too heavy to use. The idea is, he figures things out a bit too late.

The Moon in the 10th or 11th has unstable income because the person often switches jobs.

But again, there are so many things that we need to look at and see if the Moon gets support or is disturbed from somewhere else in the Chart. This is general information. You must see the whole horoscope to have an idea about how the Moon is functioning in life. Hope you get an idea about how important to understand the Moon in your chart.
